Sustainability - Our Process

We take pride in maintaining a sustainable and local production process, and work hard to ensure full quality and control throughout.

1. The Design

The Design

Each of our unique designs is digitally drawn by Brisbane-based Artist (and Art2Go founder!) Monique Baqués in our home studio. This is one of the most time-consuming stages of our process as each design is crafted to ensure the fabric we use can eventually be cut from any angle in order to minimise waste!

2. Print Print Print

The finished design is then printed on a sustainable fabric containing a mixture of elastane and 75% REPREVE® Eco-Recycled fibre, which is made from recycling single-use plastic bottles. Each one of our products saves between 10-15 bottles from our oceans! We chose this fabric because it's ethical, breathable, squat-proof and totally comfortable! Of course, all of our printing is done locally in Brisbane.

3. Cut & Sew

Cut and sew

Following a thorough quality test, our printed fabric is ready to go - so we're off to the seamstress! The fabric is cut and sewn into sports bras and a variety of colourful leggings, right here in Brisbane. Our continuous designs mean we can maximise our fabric usage to reduce as much waste as possible. But what happens with all of our excess fabric trimmings? Read below to find out!

4. Scraps Please!

Reduce Reuse Recycle Art2Go
We seriously LOVE our scrap fabric, so we make sure not to throw away any of our excess fabric trimmings from the cutting stage. Instead, Monique Baqués up-cycles all the scraps to make super funky Art2Go accessories! We've got hair scrunchies, necklaces, bags and headbands all made by hand in our home studio. And the best part - they match our activewear!
